Please read this before submitting questionsQ: What are the maps usage restrictions? Can I modify the downloaded maps? Can I redistribute them?A: Uploading their maps, authors agree that maps will be published under the UMP license. This assures, that maps are free for personal use and free to modify for personal purposes. Maps and derived works may be redistributed under certain conditions. See full license text for gory details. Q: What are the advantages of the online compiler? Is it better than freeware/shareware cGPSMapper? A: In addition to all features of freeware version, online compiler supports all features available in registered shareware version (city and POI indexing, additional city information: country and region, additional POI information: country, region, city and description), some features of the standard version (direct support for ESRI format, irregular map bounds, not limited city and POI indexing, full POI address and additional description), some features of the professional edition (building numbering, searching for address, searching for intersection) and even routing, global indexing and marine maps support. Q: I have created a map, how do I publish it? How do I compile it? How do I install it in MapSource? A: After logging in you may upload a map by filling a new map form. You should instantly find your map among recently uploaded maps and and among your maps (see the link accessible through your account administration). Current source is available right after upload. Build system is launched twice a day and after the compilation finishes a binary IMG file should be available. If a build log appears alone instead, check it to find what has gone wrong. You can reupload a new source at any time you wish. If you want a MapSource installer to be generated, you have to create a mapset. See compiler homepage for its documentation and map authoring hints. Q: I did not find an answer for my problem here and MapCenter2 does not behave as expected (or it does not work). Where to submit my problem? A: If it didn't work yesterday, please recheck if your problem still exists - MapCenter2 is updated as soon as bugs are found and we manage to fix it. If your problem persists and it seems that MapCenter2 webservice fails (you cannot login, added maps do not appear, no compilation is launched for a whole day, you cannot download a file, etc.), contact Azzie. If compilation is launched, but compiler fails (log file ends in unexpected way, you doublechecked your source against the error that still pops up, etc.) write to Stanislaw. You can also look for general help concerning maps authoring by joining a specialized Yahoo Group. Q: How could I support your efforts? I want to help! A: We run MapCenter2 in our spare time and we do not expect any money for doing what we do here. But the service grows, sometimes some hardware gets broken and we have to add or replace some stuff. If you want to help keep MapCenter2 running, please consider donating some ammount of money to the following IBAN (International Bank Account Number): PL31 1140 2004 0000 3802 3299 8360 (owner: Marcin Marszalek). It will be spent on hardware necessary to run MapCenter2. | ||
